Mideast Region Club Race Series

Here is a club race history of the MERCRS ( Mideast Region Club Race Series ) for TRI FORT . I will need to find our results from the years 1996 to 2001 and post those results.  In the early years the club had some difficulty trying to compete with the larger clubs and quite frankly no one really understood the scoring process and how to strategically attack the race series.  In 2002, I sat down with Tom Carpenter and we laid out the entire MERCRS and how to score it, attack it and then said “lets WIN it”. Wow, that year we moved up to a 5^th place finish. In 2003 we finished in 3^rd place and then in 2004 we won it all. That was a great finish with the club hitting all our strategic races and we hit it with huge participation numbers. That year we won the MERCRS trophy and the $$$$. The next three years we were always in first place going into the final MERCRS race and then out pointed to finished up with a strong 2^nd place overall.

So over the years the team in RED has produced a decent MERCRS finish for such a small club. So enjoy a few of the pics posted below of that Championship year…………2004.
